Our Mission at EHChocolatier is to create bonbons and confections that are the very best they can be. When you bite into our chocolate, we want to put a smile on your face! Freshness and flavor is what makes our chocolates stand out. That is why all of our products are handmade in small batches with attention to every ingredient and a great deal of care. Our ganaches are infused with natural, fresh and dried ingredients. No artificial flavors or preservatives are used. We use classic techniques and craft each chocolate by hand to create a perfect balance of flavor, texture and simple beauty.
EHChocolatier is a small independently owned artisan chocolate and confection company in Somerville, MA. It opened its kitchen doors in November, 2010 by cofounders and chocolatiers, Elaine Hsieh and Catharine Sweeney. Elaine and Catharine met in the Spring of 1999 when a mutual friend threw them together to bake her wedding cake (their first) and had them deliver it to Martha’s Vineyard (which was hot.) Elaine Hsieh (See-ya) received her training as a professional chef through the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and as a professional chocolatier through Ecole Chocolat in Vancouver, BC.
Catharine is a life long lover of making and eating good food. She is a self-taught chocolatier and continues her chocolate education working with various chocolatiers, most recently with the French Master Pastry Chef at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts.
