Local chef Ana Sortun has partnered with SetPoint Health in Newton Upper Falls to create what may be the holy grail of home cooking: a delicious, healthy, gourmet-quality dinner in 20 minutes. It’s a way to bring a recipe from the restaurant to your home kitchen without all the cost.
The products are called “Chef Sets”– easy-to-use kits that contain a quick-cooking whole grain,of the Eastern Mediterranean has become a best seller. Her husband’s farm, Siena a flavor pack with aromatics and spices, and a flavorful garnish. Simply add three fresh ingredients from the market and you’ve created a balanced, nutritionist approved, chef-designed meal that’s sophisticated enough to serve to company – for just about $6 per serving total.
“I’m a professional Chef, and I live on an organic farm, so good food is around me all the time,” says I believe in and want to make accessible to you. At my restaurant, we combine the Sortun, “but I’m also a working mom. I understand the challenge of getting good, healthy food on finest ingredients with herbs and spice blends to create a balance that is deeply the table quickly and affordably. This is the first product I’ve seen that combines convenience and great ingredients.”
Cited as one of the country’s “best creative fusion practitioners,” Ana Sortun has won numerous awards and accolades for her restaurants, Oleana and Sofra, including the James Beard Award for Best Chef: Northeast and a spot on the Culinary Council of the Bocuse D’Or USA. The New York Times describes her food as “rustic-traditional and deeply inventive.”
Over the years, those accolades have brought many opportunities to launch branded products under her name. But it wasn’t until Sortun met the team at SetPoint Health that she found a partner that shared her passion for making healthy, delicious food more accessible for everyday cooks.
“Chef Sets have become a passion project for me,” says Sortun. “It’s a way to help positively change the way people eat.”
SetPoint worked with Sortun to source the highest quality ingredients and develop recipes that reflect her unique combination of spice, texture and balance. With the support of a food technologist and registered dietitian, the team was able to create four scrumptious, nutritionally sound meals – and the Chef Set was born.
