Molly was born in Boston, raised in its outskirts, and attended Brown University. Her plan to become a chef was stymied, however, when she was hit by a car while jogging in the summer of 2005. As a result of the accident, she lost my sense of smell. No longer able to detect flavor in food, I moved to New York City and began to write. Her first book, Season to Taste: How I lost My Sense of Smell and Found My Way, was released last year.
Her work has appeared in the New York Times, ARTnews magazine, the New York Post, USA Today, and O, The Oprah Magazine, among others. She lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and works as an associate editor at America’s Test Kitchen. She is the project editor of the forthcoming Cook’s Illustrated cookbook “The Science of Good Cooking” (October, 2012), and can smell just about everything again.
